“To the Praise of His Glorious Grace” – Soundforth

Music Wednesdays

Most people know that the angels rejoice when a soul is born again. However, did you know the angels weren’t celebrating you on the day of your salvation . . . they were celebrating God’s glorious grace.

Everything from the creation of the world to our salvation to the trials He ordains to mature us – it all calls for the eternal praise of His grace!

“Before The Throne of God Above” – Soundforth

When Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the guilt within.                   Upward I look and see Him there; who made an end to all my sin.”

God’s on the throne. Don’t allow your fear, anger, guilt, or sadness dethrone Him.

“I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary” – Sam Robson

Music Wednesdays

We are incredibly thankful for Christ’s birth and life, but there is something so pivotal about His death and resurrection that we join Sam Robson in affirming the beauty of the Old Rugged Cross on the hill called Calvary!

“Rejoice in the Lord” – Ron Hamilton

Music WednesdaysPhilippians tells us that true peace comes only when we “rejoice in the Lord always.”

Ron Hamilton so beautifully portrays the truth of peace in difficulty in his song, Rejoice in the Lord. This song was written shortly after the doctors told him he had cancer in his eye and that they would have to remove it.

Difficulty. Yet at peace.

We hope this song helps set us on the right course this year.

“I Could Not Do Without Thee” – Matt Burtner

Music Wednesdays

Too often we think we get along just fine without Him.

It’s a lie, but it’s one that tastes too sweet.

Please reflect on these lyrics as you listen to Matt Burtner’s beautiful guitar arrangement of “I Could Not Do Without Thee.”

I could not do without Thee
O Savior of the lost,
Whose precious blood redeemed me
At such tremendous cost.
Thy righteousness, thy pardon
Thy precious blood, must be
My only hope and comfort,
My glory and my plea.

I could not do without Thee,
I cannot stand alone,
I have no strength or goodness,
No wisdom of my own;
But Thou, beloved Savior,
Art all in all to me,
And weakness will be power
If leaning hard on Thee.

I could not do without Thee,
For, oh, the way is long,
And I am often weary,
And sigh replaces song:
How could I do without Thee?
I do not know the way;
Thou knowest, and Thou leadest,
And wilt not let me stray.

I could not do without Thee,
O Jesus, Savior dear;
E’en when my eyes are holden,
I know that Thou art near.
How dreary and how lonely
This changeful life would be,
Without the sweet communion,
The secret rest with Thee!

I could not do without Thee;
No other friend can read
The spirit’s strange deep longings,
Interpreting its need;
No human heart could enter
Each dim recess of mine,
And soothe, and hush, and calm it,
O blessèd Lord, but Thine.

I could not do without Thee,
For years are fleeting fast,
And soon in solemn oneness
The river must be passed;
But Thou wilt never leave me,
And though the waves roll high,
I know Thou wilt be near me,
And whisper, “It is I.”

“Complete in Thee” The Wilds

Music Wednesdays

When we stand before God at the end of the age, we can know with everlasting certainty that we stand complete in Christ. Nothing we have ever done will add or take away from the perfect work of our substitutionary sacrifice, Jesus Christ.

“His Way is Perfect” – The Wilds

Music Wednesdays

As a counselor at The Wilds, AMBrewster had the opportunity to sing this song all summer long as part of a counselor choir.

The truth contained in this song is amazingly biblical and will redirect your thinking if you’re struggling today with trusting God’s direction for your life.

In just three days, Aaron will be leaving his home of seven years to take a new position at Victory Academy for Boys. He has recounted that many times in the past year he was tempted to doubt what God was doing, but – as always – came to realize that there was no better place for him to be than in the center of God’s perfect way.

“His Robes for Mine” – The Wilds

Music WednesdaysWhen you think about it, it doesn’t even make any sense that God the Son would take everything that belonged to Him and give it to us. And beyond that, that the God of the universe would take all of our nothingness onto Him.

Thankfully, we don’t have to understand it.

Thank you, God!
