How to Kill a Christian

How to Kill a Christian

How do you kill a Christian in America . . . and get away with it?

Imagine an America where killing Christians is not only socially acceptable, but also considered beneficial and even enjoyable. What social dynamics would have to exist in order for a society to reach this point?

Let’s do a little reverse engineering.

“The Art of War . . . um, I mean Debate”

The Art of War . . . um, I Mean Debate.
The Art of War . . . um, I Mean Debate.

Debates. We say we hate them, but we all get into them . . . all the time.

Every disagreement that presents two conflicting viewpoints is a debate of one form or another. It may simply be a friendly squabble, a formal argument, or a kick-to-the-head Facebook brawl.

And just because people use them the wrong way or participate in them sinfully does not automatically mean all debates are sinful. Jesus Himself frequently entered conversations where differing opinions struggled and where people walked away still in disagreement. This observation teaches us two things: 1. There are righteous ways to debate, and 2. Just because the other person isn’t swayed to our side after the final rebuttal, doesn’t make the process invaluable.

Because if you believe all debates are wrong or pointless . . . God disagrees with you.

So, how does a Christian debate in a way that pleases the Lord?

#TBTB#TBT – 1/22/15

ThrowBack Thursday TBT

If homosexuality was a big deal in former years, it will continue to be more so. And Christians must have a response.

But the Christian’s response to this issue must be two things: Loving and Biblical.

Joe Dallas got it right in his article To My Gay Angry Friend.

A Prediction Concerning Sexuality in America

Sexuality in America

Our society has been seeing dynamic change in “culturally acceptable sexuality” since the 60’s. Things slowed down a bit in the 80’s and 90’s, but in the past few years sexuality has come roaring back to the forefront of nearly every news article, blog post, and YouTube video because of the pressure homosexuals have put on the media.

We’re now being led to believe that a lifestyle that was viewed as abnormal, perverted, and/or sinful for thousands of years is now the generally accepted norm. And it only took about 40 years.

I’m not here today to debate homosexuality. I’ve been plenty verbal about that one.

In fact, I’m not here to make any comment on where we’ve been or where we are today when it comes to our thoughts on sex.

I want to focus on the future.

I want to make a prediction.

5 Things God Hates about Your Music

5 Things God Hates about Your Music

You love your music.

It excites you, mends you, and inspires you.

Each song in iTunes is there on purpose, and each playlist is like a chapter from your life.

You turn to music when you’re in a melancholic mood, an adrenaline-soaked frenzy, and a passionate smolder. There are songs for every occasion, and playlists for every party. We couldn’t escape it if we wanted to. It’s behind every movie fight scene, in every store, and rumbling through every sports arena.

For some, music isn’t just life, it’s everything they wish life could be.

But regardless of how well the song tells our story or how it makes us feel, the Christian desires to give Christ the preeminence. This means we must test our music (as well as our movies, movements, methods, and menus) against the Lord’s beautifully sufficient and perfect standard.

God loves that which gives glory to His character and hates that which steals the glory due Him.

So, does God love or hate your music?

#TBTB #TBT – Gendercide

ThrowBack Thursday

If you haven’t noticed, abortion has kinda been a big focus recently.

YouTube videos and even motion pictures have been trying to prove to everyone that it’s a wonderful, liberating “procedure.”

But those of us who know God’s Word realize that everyone who says that is a liar.

AMBrewster wrote an article called Gendercide in 2012 addressing not only the issue of abortion, but a then new fad of aborting only the babies with the “wrong” sex.

Sleepovers: Helpful or Hurtful?

Sleepovers: Helpful or Hurtful

A number of Christian authors recently spent the night at a friend’s house, made some bad choices, and decided to write about sleepovers.

Either that, or yet another group of authors have children getting old enough to be invited to one. Either way, the articles are posting, the questions are swirling, and the opinions are fluctuating. Should we let our kids sleepover at other people’s houses? If so, which houses are okay and which aren’t?

Lisa Cherry’s article, “What To Do About Sleepovers” is tremendously helpful because it provides a great list of considerations that not everyone thinks about. I would also like to share three additional observations I believe will be beneficial to the conversation because they come from a sphere of experience that not a lot of parents have access to. I Held Hands with a Man

I Held Hands with a Man

Yesterday I published three articles all pertaining to homosexuality in America.

  1. The first dealt with the lead singer of Jars of Clay and his foolish comments on gay marriage.
  2. The second was a video from a man who’s attracted to men and his admonition to Christians.
  3. The third was the fulfillment of a prediction concerning the diversification of “alternative lifestyles” in our culture.

I’ve posted such things before and have been veritably crucified on social media for it.

I’ve been called a homophobe, hater, intolerant jerk . . . and plenty of other more colorful variations.

But is that true?

Am I afraid of homosexuals? Do I hate them?

I believe this article will answer those questions permanently. Continue reading “I Held Hands with a Man”

Um. I told you so.

I and a score of Bible-believing Christians predicted that homosexual marriage would not be the last variant-lifestyle to seek “equality.” Gay advocates have blasted us for saying it, but we’ve said it nonetheless.

We also predicted that these varieties would rush in on America with such vigor that even the pro-gay community would be surprised.

Well. Um. I told you so.

  1. Eagle Rising gives us a glimpse into what they call “The New America” here where three lesbians have gotten married to each other and are expecting a baby. In the video, the benefits of “poly-fidelity” are paraded.
  2. The Northern Colorado Gazette is one of many periodicals to report that in light of the “alternative lifestyle” redefinition – pushed, kicked, and beaten through by the homosexual community – pedophiles are stepping out and garnering psychological “proof” that they too are just another “alternative lifestyle” deserving of inclusion. Read here what’s happening in American, and don’t be surprised to find out it’s happening all over the world (Iraq, Europe – According to Putin).
  3. And these are just two examples of the multitude of groups pushing for their aberrant lifestyles.

Come on, folks. We told you this would happen. More importantly, God told you this would happen.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.” Romans 1:24-32

“Same-Sex Attraction in the Church” – Nick Roen

Same-Sex Attraction in the Church

Nick Roen did something very hard.

Nick did something most of us have spent our entire lives trying to avoid.

He was honest about his temptation.

This video cannot circulate fast enough because it speaks to both sides of the equation:

  1. For those struggling with temptation of any kind, heed Nick’s admonition.
  2. For those relating to people struggling with temptation, point them to God.
