Weekend Update: 7/12/14

Weekend Update

We are very happy to announce that the next 5 weeks will bring a few small changes and one very exciting change to Evermind Ministries and Taking Back the Bible. That’s all we can say for now, but we hope you’ll continue with us through this providential time of growth.

Until then we will continue to fulfill our three goals.

  1. Teaching God’s Truth
  2. Reminding of God’s Truth
  3. Applying God’s Truth to the human experience

On Sunday you can read “Peace In: Part IV.” We hope it will be extremely applicable to all of you, especially those who have struggled with doubt, worry, and anxiety. God has amazing promises for those feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of life.

Our weekly feature will publish on Monday. It’s entitled “Does God Hate Your Music?” Our president, AMBrewster, will present a timely and necessary formula to test whether or not our music glorifies God.

Thank you for reading/sharing, praying, and giving.

Weekend Update – 6/14/14

Weekend UpdateFriends,

We look forward to introducing our new Sunday Sermon Series tomorrow.

As we’ve prayerfully decided which content will be the most effective and Christ-honoring, we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way to deal with God’s Word is exegetically. Exegesis is the is a point-by-point handling of the Scripture that takes into consideration the entirety of the work. Topical preaching and teaching is helpful, and we embrace such communication, but we mustn’t neglect thorough exegesis. So, we will spend our time on Sunday doing so.

Our plan is to start simple, so we’re reviving and refurbishing a series that was started a while ago by AMBrewster on the subject of peace from the book of Philippians. Tomorrow’s post will be a an introduction to that series, and he is very excited to have a chance to finish it.

In the future we hope to tackle full books.

As always, we are greatly appreciative for those of you who subscribe and read. We’d also like to encourage you to share and comment. You can be a blessing to our other readers when you provide insightful, truths via your comments and replies, and you can expose others to these posts by sharing.

One easy way to share Taking Back the Bible is by clicking on the “Click to Tweet” buttons to share quotes and links. This “Click To Tweet” says,

Weekend Update

From AMBrewster:

Thank you so much for your patience!

I am very grateful to the Lord for helping our first week at Schaumburg Christian Day Camp to go so well. We have a full staff of amazing counselors and a even fuller rooms of awesome campers. Please continue to pray for us as we minister to our Camp Families over the next eleven weeks.

So, now that Day Camp is off to a good start, I will be able to turn my attention back to Taking Back the Bible in the coming week!

Stay tuned for our new series starting in a few weeks called Sunday Sermon Series and watch out for our Monday Feature entitled “The Most Destructive Thing about Hollywood is Not What You Think.”

Thank you,

Here’s a quick glimpse into a week at SCDC and a little picture of what AMBrewster does when he’s not counseling.

Weekend Update from AMBrewster: 5/23/14

Weekend Update

Memorial Day weekend is busy for just about everyone.

But for the past six years, this weekend has been extra busy for me in a very different way.

This is the last year I will be Director at Schaumburg Christian Day Camp, and like every year before, I spend most of this weekend and all of next week scrambling to put the finishing details on the very robust and dynamic summer program we run.

With that said, I imagine that my posts here may be a little trim this coming week.

But once Day Camp is running like the summer-time-fun machine that it is, I will be back in full production here. In the meantime, please feel free to like our Evermind Ministries Facebook page and follow me on Twitter for daily encouragement, accountability, and introspection.

I would also love to hear from you about what God is doing in your life because of Taking Back the Bible or answer any questions you may have. You can email me at

Thank you for your loyal following, reading, and sharing as we attempt to fulfill Christ’s lofty mission to make disciples for the King!

Memorial Day

What is Evermind? Part 3

Evermind Ministries

So far we’ve discussed what Evermind desires to accomplish by the grace of God. You can read that here.

And we’ve also shown you how we hope to accomplish those goals. You can read that here.

Our mission will never be fulfilled by human means or by human power. We readily acknowledge that we need God through it all. But the beautiful thing about the body of Christ is that God chooses to use His children to be the instruments of grace to other believers.

It is for this reason we ask that you strongly consider doing one or all of the following:

1. Pray – Petition God that He grants us the grace and wisdom we need to share His truth in His way for His reasons.

2. Follow – Like us, follow us, and share us on social media. The more people we can reach with the answers to life and godliness, the better!

3. Invite – We know there are a lot of godly resources available out there, but we would love to partner with your family, group, class, ministry, or program if you will have us. We have a driving passion to share with the broader body of Christ what He is daily showing us through His Word!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
